So in a city where arguably one of the biggest artists in the world stops to do his tour and a popular TV show is airing at the same time, In a small intimate cafe there was a spoken word show going on. Artists and lovers of the arts came together to share a wonderful evening of good food, good energy, and great words. Celeste Written drove to the city from Mobile, AL to feature as well as celebrate her birthday. Along with Celeste was the very talented Cara May out of Mobile, AL as well. There was a poet by the name of DC Poet (from D.C.) who hadn’t been living in New Orleans for over a week yet came and shared her words. Two Members of the National Slam Champion slam team Team SNO (TEAM SNO!!!) came and shared some amazing poetry. Thank you Justin Lamb & Prince Akeem. Critically acclaimed DJ, DJ RQ Away stepped away from the turntables and stepped behind the mic to share his words. The Poetic One shared a heart felt piece. Team Bri was in the building. Ari Unwritten shared a new poem. Roney McIntyre came through and shared an awesome piece. Sunny D hit the crowd with his M’s. Smut Da Poet & host John Lacarbiere came together to perform their crowd favorite “Steve Harvey.” Angelle opened the night up with a great new piece and the night was closed by first timer Danny.
